Golden State Water Company's operations are grouped into three regions. This link focuses on Region II, serving communities in Los Angeles County. If you would like information about other areas of the company, please refer to our Links section.
Region II operations are focused in 29 cities and several communities in uncorporated Los Angeles County, serving more than 100,000 customer connections. The region is divided into two districts and four customer service areas.
Region II operates 7 separate water systems consisting of more than 895 miles of distribution pipelines, meters and hydrants. Water delivered to customers' homes is surface water, or groundwater pumped from local underground basins or a blend of the two sources. On average, 41 percent of the Region II water supply is pumped from 64 active, company-owned wells. The remaining water supply is surface water purchased from the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California through the West Basin and Central Basin Municpal Water Districts.
Southwest District Southwest Customer Service Area Customers living in the communities of Carson, Lawndale, Gardena, Hawthorne, Inglewood, Torrance, portions of Compton, and parts of unincorported Los Angeles County including Athens, El Camino Village, Lennox and Liberty Acres receive service from the employees of the Southwest Customer Service Area. The local Customer Service offices are located at 17140 S. Avalon Blvd., Suite 100 in Carson, and at 18236 Prairie Ave. in Torrance.
The water delivered to the homes in the Southwest Customer Service Area is a blend of local groundwater and imported water from the Colorado River or the Bay Delta in Northern California.
Conservation programs - GSWC free ultra low flush toilets to residents. Ultra low flush toilets use 1.6 gallons per flush as compared to older toilets which can use from 3 to 7 gallons per flush. The older toilet must be returned on the designated return date, usually two weeks after the distribution. The old toilets are recycled and used as road base materials. Central District Central Basin West Customer Service Area Customers living in the communities of Bell, Bell Gardens, Cudahay, Florence, Graham, Willowbrook, Hollydale and unicorporated areas of Los Angeles County, receive service from the employees of the Central Basin West Customer Service Area. The local Customer Service office is located at 7105 D Eastern Ave. in Bell Gardens.
The water delivered to the homes in the Central Basin East Customer Service Area is a blend of local groundwater and imported water from the Colorado River or the Bay Delta in Northern California.

The local Customer Service office is located at 11469 Rosecrans Ave. in Norwalk.
The water delivered to the homes in the Central Basin East Customer Service Area is a blend of local groundwater and imported water from the Colorado River or the Bay Delta in Northern California.

The water delivered to the homes in the Culver City Customer Service Area is imported from the Colorado River or the Bay Delta in Northern California and a small percentage from local groundwater.
